Millbrook High School

Symphonic Band

Symphonic Band is an academic level performance-based ensemble at Millbrook High School. It is intended for dedicated and talented musicians who are looking to advance to the next level. Emphasis is placed on individual tone production, technical development and sight-reading, as well as ensemble balance, blend, intonation, and aesthetic musical growth. Students will learn these skills through a focus on tone building and technical exercises and the performance of literature.

January 6: All District Band Auditions Required for Proficient Credit
January 13: All District Band Snow Date
January 26-27: All District Band Clinic Required only if selected
February 20: Jazz Cafe & Chamber Night/Optional
March 2: All State Auditions/Required if eligible
March 19: MPA
April 26-28: All State Band Clinic (UNCG)/Required only if selected
May 16: Spring Concert and Banquet
June 6: Graduation Performance Raleigh Convention Center

Highlights and Awards

In 2022 and 2023 Millbrook’s Symphonic Band received Superior Ratings at North Carolina Music Performance Adjudication.
