In the last few years under the direction of Avery Payne, Millbrook’s Wind Ensemble has continued to grow and excel musically. Some of our recent highlights include 2023 Winner of the Presidents Cup High School Band Concert Grand Festival and being the featured performing ensemble at the 2022 North Carolina Music Educators Association In-Service Conference. The 2023-2024 season brings more exciting opportunities including being invited to perform at the 2024 Music for All National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, IN and at the 2024 University of South Carolina Band Clinic Performance in Columbia, SC. The past 11 years, the Wind Ensemble has received Superior Ratings at North Carolina Music Performance Adjudication at the Grade VI and Masterworks Level. Our musicians have been awarded music scholarships from these colleges and universities: Appalachian State University, East Carolina University, Florida State University, Indiana University, Michigan State University, Temple University, University of North Carolina, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and University of North Texas.
