Color Guard

Marching band encompasses more than just musical instruments; it’s also a captivating blend of props and dance. Millbrook’s color guard brings a stunning array of visual artistry and expression to our performances. Through their intricate choreography and skillful equipment manipulation, the color guard assumes the role of storytellers on the field. Their performance complements the musical elements, providing context for the audience to immerse themselves in the story being told. According to MusicalExpert.org, “Color guarding has its roots in military history, where men with flags, staffs, or mock rifles accompanied bands playing patriotic tunes to boost the army’s morale.” Today the Color Guard has been adapted for schools all across the country, from middle schools to colleges, enriching school spirit wherever they perform.
